Mr. Sathya Srivastava, Trustee of Blue Cross of India, alerted FIAPO about struggles of Ms. Neelam Kaur with Municipal Corporation of Bhopal which she says is poisoning stray dogs to control their population.
Photographs of the dead dogs loaded in municipal van were sent to us as evidence. After getting details from Ms. Kaur, FIAPO wrote a letter to the Municipal Commissioner of Bhopal urging him to immediately stop killings of dogs and informing him of the laws protecting dogs. We are in touch with Ms. Kaur who says she will also follow up this letter for us with the corporation.
Whether you live in Bhopal or not; whether you live within or outside India, we urge everyone who feels the pain of animals to write to the Municipal Commissioner of Bhopal asking him to stop this barbaric and illegal activity of poisoning stray dogs.
