The animals of Uttrakhand need your help. They are starving with absolutely no vegetation available. Govindghat and Gaurikund have a massive congregation of mules, more than 2,000 of which are missing or dead and an equal number are injured or dying. Gauri Mulekhi is taking a relief team with supplies to Gaurikund near Kedarnath. Govindghat is beyond reach because the connecting bridge has collapsed and we simply cannot get there. There are no roads for some 40 kilometers there, we are trying to get the government to assist. More and more supplies will be needed in due time. Hopefully we will be there by Saturday. The local teams have tried and failed. The stench of death is everywhere.
