The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation had put up boards in parks which said “Dogs and Pets not allowed in parks” (pic in the post). Imagine this is what a Govt machinery which happens to be the custodians of stray dogs in India had put outside the parks. And all this because the local councillors and RWAs insisted them to do so. The tragedy is that most of the parks in Chandigarh are being managed by the RWAs. This is what happens when RWAs takeover. Anyhow the good news is that the AWBI has issued guidelines to the Municipal Corporation asking them to remove the illegal boards. The guidelines issued by them.were forwarded by the former Union Minister for Women and Child Development and founder of PFA Maneka Gandhi to the Municipal Commissioner Baldeo Purushartha. If only our municipal corporations had worked in a positive manner and more responsibly then probably all this hatred towards the man’s best friend could have been easily avoided.
