ABC rules came in 2001 in India but it never got implemented the way it was envisioned.
Recently newspapers reported that a 7 month old baby was mauled to death by dogs in Bhopal. There were no eye witnesses nor there was a postmortem report to substantiate the facts yet media spread the news like fire
And what happened next is unimaginable. Dogs were picked up like terrorists & dumped in ABC units & caregivers who resisted from dogs being picked up were booked by the municipal corporation for creating obstruction in carrying out their duty
What duty? To pick up innocent dogs who don’t even know what wrong they have done & leave them to die? Watch how sterlization is being done for the unsterlized dogs. This is not sterlization but murder in the name of ABC & this has been happening for many years

The corporation’s duty was to get all dogs sterilized & vaccinated in the last 23 years but did they do it? Now they are blaming the dogs for their failure
It was the corporation’s duty to create awareness about dog behaviour & ABC rules
It was the corporation’s duty to conduct annual rabies vaccination of all dogs in its area
Not a single municipal corporation in India carries out the above-mentioned duties. Why? And what have the animal welfare bodies done whose primary duty was to ensure ABC gets implemented in right manner pan India
The unfortunate part is many commissioners heading the corporations are not even aware of ABC rules & dog behaviour
Under ABC rules No sterilized dog is to be picked up but corporations pick them up regularly like garbage during any VIP movement & event & this is all happening with the knowledge & support of people in animal welfare
Ever wondered why a country whose scientists reached sun & moon & whose doctors successfully made covid vaccine have failed miserably in implementing ABC rules? Crores of money spent & 23 precious years wasted?
It’s time govt makes a special task force of righteous & honest people for the implementation of ABC rules
The task force should ensure compulsory training of ABC rules & dog behaviour to all govt employees of the rank of IAS & IPS because it is they who ultimately have to implement the ABC rules in their respective areas
Create the right awareness about canine rabies & Carry out annual rabies vaccination of dogs with the help of caregivers so that India becomes canine rabies-free by 2030
It’s important to teach young children at the school level how to interact with animals especially dogs as many in India see dogs as rabid & an enemy which only bite & barks
Dogs of India & caregivers have been victims of corrupt & apathetic system
An uncontrolled dog population which is kept hungry, thirsty, killed, burnt, poisoned, relocated, beaten will certainly bite, attack & maul humans & children
Why blame indian dogs for apathy, dishonesty & greed of few corrupt Indians?
